Re-Imagine!

Re-Imagine!
© 2003 by Tom Peters

Well over 80% of people who work in manufacturing don’t do any manufacturing. At least 80% of white-collar jobs as we know them today will either disappear entirely or be reconfigured beyond recognition in just the next 15 years. All job security is over, over and gone. I have only the slightest difficulty imagining in 2020 a $10 billion global enterprise with 7 full-time employees. Admittedly that seems far-fetched but I find that increasingly easy to imagine the unimaginable. The web changes everything - embrace it totally or else. The internet allows us to dream, dreams we could have never dreamed before. We must reimagine the business models so that it is driven internally and externally by the web and the power of total connectivity. The internet allows us to dream previously unheard of dreams.
Find in 2003 the people who are already living the e-world of 2013. Find the poor sigma person one in 10,000 persons who in 2003 is already doing 2013
Women don’t buy brands they join them. Design is what and why I love. Design is not about like, it’s not about dislike. It’s about passion, emotion attachment. Emotions are twice as important as facts in the process by which people make final decisions. Design is the principle difference between love and hate. The one page business plan idea is beautiful too. A brand reaches out with a powerful connecting experience. It’s an emotional connection point that transforms the product. It’s our passion what you care about, it’s about what inside, what inside you, what’s inside your company, who are you, why are you here, how are you unique, how can you make a dramatic difference, what is my mission in life, what do I want to covey to people, how do I make sure that what I have to offer the world is actually unique. The brand has to give up itself, the company has to give up itself, and the management has to give up itself. To put it bluntly it is a matter of whether you want to be unique now.
The uniqueness equals the emotional connection. A book called disruption and beyond disruption are among the best business books I have read in many a year. Great leadership is great story telling. Women speak and hear a language of connection and intimacy and men speak and hear a language of status and independence. Men communicate to obtain information and establish their status and show independence. Women communicate to create relationship encourage in her action and exchange feeling. The average male recommends him to 2.6 others, the average woman recommends him to 21 other people. 2.6 to 21.
The word respect comes up with women over and over again. Men and women are different, very different. Men and women have absolutely nothing in common, nothing. Women buy lots of stuff, women buy all of the stuff.
